Must Haves For Content Creators On The Slopes

If you are a budding content creator the happenings on and around the slopes are nothing short of an obvious goldmine. Whether you are an up and coming snowboarding TikTok influencer or an aspiring National Geographic nature photographer, there is a place for you.

To capture great POV video on the slopes you’ll want a smaller device that you can mount on a backpack strap or the top of your helmet.

Nothing screams adventure sport content creator quite like GoPro.

The easy to use device makes your videos of these exhilarating experiences in a terrain park, off piste or on a solid groomed trail that much more engaging. The Hero 10 is the model I recommend. It’s waterproof down to a staggering 33 feet — which is helpful for snow sports…I guess.

Insta360 is also a great way to go. This brand has an all in one kit. With that being said, none of these options are particularly cheap.

If you’re more of a DSLR dude like me (and yes, this is a shameless plug for my work) nothing is more appealing than bringing your professional grade camera to the summit. The quality is unmatched in my opinion.

But with that comes the inherent risks that come with snow sports like those dreaded wipeouts. If you can break your bones or tear your ACL, you can definitely break a delicate DSLR.

The right bag can make all the difference.

If you are going the backpack route, you want one that allows you to grab your camera quickly. Plus you want a bag that provides ample protection from the elements.

My personal favorite options are from the appropriately named F-Stop Gear. Atlas Pack and Thule are also highly recommended brands.

Waterproof Hip Pack

Another option is a hip pack. This allows pretty easy access to your camera. These work well to shoot at your leisure. Topo Designs has some great options.

Shell Camera Cover

The last thing you want — well at least close to it — is a wet camera. That means— at best —bad pictures— that’s why you will definitely need to invest in a shell cover for your camera. Peak Design has some great options available at REI.
